Project
Amo Ososwan School in Winneway River
The Amo Ososwan School project in Winneway River enabled the construction of a primary and secondary educational institution rooted in its cultural and territorial context. The mandate, carried out for Long Point First Nation in collaboration with architect Douglas Cardinal, involved site supervision for an institutional building constructed with cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels, showcasing a sustainable and structurally sound approach.
The architecture stands out through the warm expression of the material, the clarity of its volumes, and the quality of its interior spaces, fostering an inspiring and unifying learning environment. The project reflects a respectful integration of the building into its surroundings, both architecturally and communally.
